Shea butter

Shea butter is a mixture of fatty substances obtained from the seeds of Vitellaria paradoxa (or Butyrospermum parkii), an oak-like tree belonging to the Sapotaceae family. This tall-stemmed woody plant, also known as the "tree of youth", for its extraordinary regenerative properties, grows wild in sub-Saharan savannah areas. Due to its rich and varied composition, shea butter is endowed with numerous properties that are exploited both in the dietary and cosmetic fields. In detail, shea butter has moisturizing, nourishing, emollient, regenerating and antioxidant properties.
